Mill spindle is 1"x10 thread, Morse Taper 2. Most tooling for MT-2 is tapped 3/8"x16 for the drawbar. There are two round notches in genuine Atlas milling arbors - and these mate with pins that protrude from a thread-on spindle drive adaptor to keep the arbor from slipping in the taper when driving a milling cutter.

05-22-2012, 04:55 PM. I was just offered a small atlas horizontal mill for $125. It's complete with tooling, but has been partially disassembled (I think just the motor has been removed) for years. Seems like the few times I've seen these guys for sale they've been in the $600 range, so I'm assuming $125 is a deal.

The MFB had that cast cutter guard (M1-22) overarm was further supported by another set of M6-45 clamping devices in the outboard part of that cast guard. These are pretty rare. The deal is that the overarm support to the milling arbor was different (M1-8) . The newer MFC dispenced with the cutter guard and used M1-60 arbor support.
